This goshala is run solely through donations. The trust was initially established with a program called Shankara Jayanti. For the past many years, the Sri Shankara Jayanti program has been continuously organized under the auspices of Sri Shankara Goshala.

Here, the service of Gomata, the service of Shiva Keshav,Homas are performed.
Yagnas (Homas):
Around 110 Homas are held in a year at Sri Shankara Goshala. Out of these, 40 are Chandi Homas; 20 are Lakshmi Ganapati Homas; 25 are Lakshmi Narasimha Sudarshan Homas; and 25 are Rudra Mrityunjaya Homas.Chandi Homa is performed on the (Ashtami) eighth day of the Shukla Paksha of every month, and again during Vasantha Navaratri, Varahina Navaratri, Shyamala Navaratri, and Devi Navaratri.Homas are performed for 30 days in the month of Karthika. Of these, Rudra Mrityunjaya Homas are performed for 15 days in the Shukla Paksha, and Lakshmi Narasimha and Sudarshan Homas are performed for 15 days in the Krishna Paksha.Similarly, Lakshmi Ganapati Homam is performed on the occasion of Sankatahara Chaturthi every month, Sudarshan Homam is performed on the day of Krishna Paksha Ekadashi, and Mrityunjaya and Rudra Homams are performed on the day of Arudra Nakshatra.Anyone wearing traditional attire can participate in these homams without paying any fee.
